February 22, 2019

Iceland has maintained its position at Number 8 on The Sunday Times25 Best Big Companies to Work For list 2019. It is the 13thconsecutive year that Iceland has featured in the list, and the company is the only food retailer to appear in the top 25.

The Best Companies Awards ceremony was attended by 10 colleagues from across the business, including two of Iceland’s highest performing Store Managers and an Area Talking Shop Rep. The colleagues were chosen to attend the awards ceremony, along with senior management figures, in recognition of their contributions to improving workplace engagement.

Thornton Heath Store Manager Colin Powell achieved the highest increase in staff engagement levels across the entire business, whilst Bletchley Food Warehouse Store Manager Ian Bisby played a key role in fundraising over £50,000 for the Iceland Foods Charitable Foundation in 2018 by organising a 756-mile cycle challenge. Area Talking Shop Rep Jessica Holmes impressed the Board of Directors last year by proposing a business improvement to simplify a manual process that will save 497,120 pieces of paper per annum.
